Choosing the right golf ball, what is best for me?
I've been playing golf for about six years, and I've really been working on my game the past 2 years. I'm about to break into the 70s and trying to find all the details to help me over the hump. I have said in the past a soft ball work best for me do to my swing speed (I'm usually between 95 and 100 mph). I have heard that the Pro V1 balls as my game will not help because I do not move enough to compress. Right now I am Precept Laddies hit. I have beaten Callaway War Bird, Nike Juice, and Top Flight D2. It is difficult to say it was more there, because I have beaten at different times and my swing is better now and I have a new driver. Is there any truth to this? More importantly, what ball and / or balls would be better for my swing speed (for maximum distance)? Maybe I'll have some in my stocking from Santa this year:) Thanks, JC
There are many golf balls on the market that do different things, balls to adapt to different courses, the balls react differently to the club head, ball flying high, the balls that turn over etc etc .. If you feel you have a decent short game, but you can shave a few strokes of the same then change to the ball as the HX Callaway, Titleist Pro V1, including Bridgestone tires, these balls away but will not sacrifice control on the greens. You do not want one that will give balll maximum distance, it would stop the ball flat on a lake, much less a putting surface. Grab a compression sleeve of soft balls and head to the practice green get the feel of the ball then try the course.
