battery problem?? VW golf?
I bought a 2006 volkswagen golf gls in early '07, I paid 18,000 for it, only had a little over 10 km on it. Not a bad deal, is a 5 SPD, white, and handles great. The only problem I have with it is the bat died few days ago. I called AAA and they came out and jumped me. It worked fine for a day or two, then the bat died again. I do not know much about cars, so what could be the problem? I have no spare part in it or anything that could drain the bat. Mabye the bat only needs replacing, I have no idea. So if anyone out there has an answer, thanks.
The cause could be more than one, could be the battery, alternator, cables are not burned etc.please start replacing parts. First, get the full battery charged and tested, if its ok then do check the alternator output, and the voltage drop across the load circuit positive and negative voltage drop across the battery sides.Excess means you have loose or corroded contacts cables or burned. If all the circuit looks good, re-test the alternator output (voltage and current check) after a long journey, for example 45 minutes. Could the drop in production only after a long hot drive.If you are not a mechanic, then you are in a competent shop. I hope some that this assistance.
